Arts Advocacy Committee
About the committee:
Our goal is to support artistic projects that visually enhance and enliven our neighborhood and/or provide support and encouragement for neighborhood artists. Thanks to funds from previous BH ArtWalk proceeds, one project will be funded this year - but the committee is actively seeking additional community support to make it possible to fund larger or multiple projects.

Since this is the committee’s inaugural year, we will also be developing application and RFP forms and processes, as well as more formal policies and procedures to guide the deliberations of future years’ committees. If you are interested, we would love to hear your thoughts about potential arts-related projects or processes for future funding cycles.
Our 2025 Project:
Boylan Heights is excited to announce a unique opportunity for artists to create temporary outdoor installations to be located at four intersections in our historic and creative neighborhood, between Western Blvd and the Boylan Bridge. This is a collaborative effort with support from participating homeowners, the Boylan Heights Neighborhood Association, Heights House, and the City of Raleigh. We’ve set aside $2,500 to support a single artist or team of artists in bringing to life a cohesive installation of 8-10 pieces at the major intersections along Boylan Ave and at
Heights House. We’re looking for proposals that reflect the spirit of Boylan Heights — imaginative, engaging, energetic, and rooted in community. We welcome all forms of outdoor art — sculpture, light, interactive, or something entirely new. Let your creativity guide you!
