Please welcome the following
additions to our neighborhood!
David and Isaac Groves
were born Nov 28, 2005. They are fraternal twins. Their parents are
Jeff and Heather Groves. Isaac (right), who goes by “Zack”, has
blue eyes, 6 teeth and dark chestnut hair. He is very interested in
letters, numbers, shapes (especially hearts and stars), and books.
He is walking and talking. He says “cat, that, book, truck,
eight.) He loves his giraffe "Raffie". He is more cautious
than his twin brother, who goes by “Davie” (left). Davie has
green eyes, 9 teeth and medium chestnut hair. He says
"mama" and "dada" and uses a little sign
language to communicate. In fact the two of them have their own
special language of both signs and vocalizations by which they
communicate. Davie walked first. He likes music, gadgets, remotes,
and computers (already!). His favorite toy is a hippo named
"Hippie". Davie has more stranger anxiety than his twin.
They both like to play with their cats, Sweetie and Liam.
Their favorite foods are fruit (especially strawberries), toast with
jam, applesauce, chicken, green beans and sweet potatoes. They are
fascinated with lights and fans. Their maternal grandparents care
for them during the day.
Nora Grace and Jackson
Joseph Macaluso were born October 24, 2006. They are also fraternal
twins. Their parents are Jessica Schrider and Pietro Macaluso. Nora
Grace weighed 7 lbs 1 oz at birth and already her parents are noting
gender differences between her and “Jack.” Nora Grace is “all
girl, i.e. sweet and feminine.” She is very talkative. She is
turning over, sucks on her feet and grabs for toys - not all at the
same time. She loves to play with her rattles. Jack weighed 6 lbs 4
oz and he is “all boy”, i.e. brut and rough. He too turns
over, and grabs toys - his favorite being a cardinal bird toy. The
two of them enjoy a diet of breast milk, and at times, some formula.
Caring for twins has been a new learning curve for both parents who
have enlisted the help of various family members. Jessica’s mother
now lives with them to help out with feeding, bedtime, and laundry,
Pietro runs the family business - Super Suppers of Cary.
Charlie Mayhew was born November 15, 2006.
His parents are Christine and Robert Mayhew. Charlie weighed 8 lbs 14 oz and
measured 21 inches. Charlie likes music, singing, sleeping, eating and to be
happy. He is not a crier. He is a very relaxed baby who recently discovered his
hands. His swing is his favorite toy. He is a good sleeper - having mastered
the art of 12 hours of sleep without waking up! Lucky parents! He too is on a
diet of yummy breast milk. When he’s awake he is social and happy. The family’s
teacup poodle, Liat isn’t sure yet about Charlie and what he is all about.
Charlie recently started to daycare so that his mom can work as a litigation
attorney and his dad can continue to pursue his PhD in art history.
Whitley Grace Brinker was born January 9, 2007.
Her parents are Eric and Emily Brinker. The name Whitley comes from Emily’s
grandmother. Whitley Grace weighed 7 lbs 12 oz at birth and has blue eyes. She
too is on a diet of breast milk. Maybe that is why she smiles so much! At her
young age she has figured out her days and nights (correctly.) She can lay on
her tummy and hold her head up. She grabs and hits. She’s good on car trips and
even attends mommy and baby yoga classes, while her dad works in the
construction business.
