ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS I am proud to
present to you the 2005 edition of the Boylan Heights Neighborhood
Directory. This edition represents our
first venture into the realm of professional, full color printing. We hope you enjoy the fresh layout and more
durable paper and binding. This edition of
the directory was a true labor of love, with emphasis on the word labor! I want to thank the following people who made
the directory possible: Jeff Groves
Jeff created a form on the Boylan Heights Association Web site that allowed
many of you to submit your questionnaires online, a definite convenience for
the electronically-inclined. K.D. Reeve
K.D. incorporated the printed questionnaires into two different editions of the
neighborhood newsletter. Derrick Weaver
and the block-by-block newsletter distribution team Derrick and his team are
the feet on the street who got the newsletters to you
that included the printed questionnaires. Chris Weedy At the beginning of
this project, I said I had an idea that we could secure sponsors to help pay
for the directory but that I would need a lot of help to make it happen. After no one volunteered to help, Chris
stepped up and said she would help me.
Chris took my seed of an idea and worked tirelessly to bring in sponsors
and then follow up with them about their checks and ads. She also contributed
in a number of other ways, ranging from brainstorming, planning, running down
information, encouraging neighbors to submit questionnaires, proofing copy, and
providing moral support. She also
introduced me to David Kerley. David Kerley David took all the pieces of the directory and
wove them together into a cohesive document.
He created our cover design; he created and redesigned ads; and he
reworked the traditional directory layout to make it more functional and laid
out the entire document. David created
all the computer files necessary to produce a full color publication. For those of you who have not worked with the
printing process, this is an incredibly time-consuming and challenging
responsibility. What makes it most
remarkable is that David is not a resident of Our Sponsors
Please consider patronizing our directory sponsors from in and around the
neighborhood. Thanks to their
participation, we were able to cover the costs of producing the directory while
at the same time improving its quality. You! If you
received a copy of the directory, you (or someone in your house) submitted a
questionnaire. Without your
participation, this directory simply would not be possible. Thank you for taking the time to let us know
who you are and how we can contact you.
Each time you take out your directory to look up a neighbor, you should
feel proud to know that you played a role in producing it. Warm regards, Evelyn Fahy Chair, 2005 . Copyright 2003-2008, BoylanHeights.org |
