UPDATE ON 806 McCulloch Street

On March 1, 2005, Mason LLC bought 806 McCulloch (formerly the Raleigh Saw Company). Raleigh Saw Company operated in Boylan heights for over 50 years, manufacturing and sharpening saws for Raleigh residents and beyond.  Construction is now underway to renovate the building for two new businesses in Boylan Heights.  On the left side of the building will be Bee Photography Studio.  Alex Bee is the owner.  See http://www.alexbee.com/ for more information.

The second business to be housed at 806 McCulloch is Broad Reach, a company that arranges summer activities for teens ages 13 - 18, “including scuba, sailing, marine biology, academic and wilderness programs that span the globe.”

Will Alphin, contractor in charge of the 7,000 square feet renovation estimates that Bee Studio will be complete in 4- 5 months and that Broad Reach will be complete in 8 months. He reports they are maintaining much of the character of the building, including maintaining the brick walls and using the current windows.

 Don’t worry though, Raleigh Saw Company has not closed. They have simply moved! You may still get your saws sharpened at their new location: 5805 C Departure Drive (off of Capital Blvd.) Their phone is still the same: 919-832-2248.
