2005 Pink Truck Luncheon

 by Jessica Schrider Macaluso

The Garden Club sponsored a very successful luncheon for the Pink Truck crew on Friday, April 1st.  As has been the case for the past several years, the men were served on the gracious porch of the Dunbar family, at 422 Cutler Street.

We had 15 people donate either food or money to support the cause, and the result was a bountiful assortment of food that the crew just loved.  One of the biggest food highlights was Jim Kellenberger’s 11th hour offering of chicken wings, collard greens, cornbread, and sweet potatoes!  Our Pink Truck crew even got to take food home with them.

The Pink Truck runs during weekends in April and serves 18 different neighborhoods in Raleigh. Only 5 of the neighborhoods offer the crew lunch, though, and the crew said that our lunch rates as one of the best.

The Garden Club would like to thank everyone who supported the Pink Truck luncheon this year – it was one of the best yet!
