Collins presiding over meeting for Lee Kirby. II. Review and approval of minutes III. Report by Aaron Browder and Steve Hilderhoff There
is an ongoing sewer project begun in mid-July to fix sewer pipe in alley
between South and Dorothea, as the pipe goes under some homes. This
will fix water and sewer lines to both streets. The new sewer line is
being installed in South Street. Materials should last 100 years. The
city is paying $437K for the project. Scheduled completion date is Nov.
18. For any questions or problems, call Aaron Brower with the City Public
Utilities at cell 857-8544 IV. Raleigh Police Officers report. 17 calls overall: drug call, vandalism, larceny from cars, suspicious persons in last 30 days for BH. The “Lock, Take, Hide” campaign signs are about $15 per sign. Lyman suggested the BHA purchase several. Evelyn Fahy will check on how to purchase signs.
VI. Parks and Recreation Dept:
Upcoming bond measure. Oct. 9 vote. See brochures. Joseph Huberman motioned
for BHA to vote to support bond measure, Michael Lee seconded. Motion
passed. VII. Report on ACT and SCALE – Janet Silber. Acting
Communities Together, umbrella group for neighborhood advocacy groups.
Janet attended their meetings and represented Boylan Heights. VIII. Artwalk Report – Elizabeth Dunbar reports. Dec. 2 with over 100 artists. Garden Club will be decorating the entrances. Centennial Committee – Lyman Collins for John Montgomery. Artists for ArtWalk invited to do centennial themes. Committee will have a porch at ArtWalk. Progressive dinner will be an event, Oct. 28. Boylan Bash – Lyman Collins for Chris Weedy, see newsletter. X. Old Business – Traffic
issues XI. New Business – trees in
neighborhood are the same age, all will be dying at the same time. City
is not replacing trees of the same type, only short trees. Lyman Collins
suggested to have Ray Lanier work with Janet Silber to bring a suggestion
back to next meeting. Evelyn Fahy moved to adjourn the meeting;
Jeff Mason seconded. Motion passed and meeting was adjourned. |
