f. Cost of Newsletter –
Jimmy Creech
Discussion
regarding managing the cost of the Newsletter. Newsletter is now usually 6 pages and in
color. It never had a mission statement
or budget. The cost in 2005, prior to the last five issues (September, October,
November, January and February), averaged $62.81 per issue. Current cost for
the last five issues is about $120 per issue.
Suggestion to survey the neighborhood to see who wants to receive it or
should it be electronic. Several attendees said the Newsletter is an
asset to the neighborhood, but there was concern about it’s
cost. Jimmy reported that Joseph Huberman, editor of the Newsletter, informed him that an
anonymous donor has committed to cover the cost of the Newsletter not covered
by sponsorships. A few recommendations
were made regarding raising revenue through routine advertising announcements
sponsored by neighbors. The following
motion was made and passed unanimously:
“The BHA will contribute up
to $70 per issue for the Newsletter. The
Editor will submit his/her costs and sponsorships to the Treasurer.”
g. Centennial Year
