The secretary was absent for most of this portion of the meeting. No minutes were taken. Steve Jellicorse brought drawings of
proposed changes to Boylan Avenue properties near Dorothea Drive.
An explanation was provided of what had
occurred at the August meeting with respect to proposed changes to the
bylaws. There was general discussion
from the floor in favor and in opposition to the actions.
The chair was asked (point of order) if the
August votes would stand in light of current bylaws provisions on the method
for changing the bylaws. The chair
ruled that the votes would stand. The
ruling on the point of order was appealed and seconded. The vote on the appeal was 13 to 13 and
failed to pass with a simple majority.
There was a great deal more general
discussion on the bylaws, proposed changes and procedures of the Association
including the minutes, the newsletter and how meetings are run.
A motion was made to waive the provision of the bylaws that requires a
vote at two consecutive meetings to approve changes to the bylaws. This motion was seconded and passed unanimously
by voice vote.
Report by Chris Weedy: Committee continuing to meet once a month;
three current subcommittees (History, Trivia, and Programming) working on their
own; decision made to set aside BH Directory until other goals accomplished.
The website has had 1479 hits to date; includes a forum which is up and
running; request for more photos to be added to photo gallery; bumper sticker
survey posted.
The Social Committee reports that the November First Friday social
gathering may be at a new location and that a Yappy Hour at Wag on Glenwood is
in the works.
Neighborhood Watch Committee did not report.
The Treasurer’s report was given. BHA has $1,792.86 in the bank.
No new action or meetings have taken place although a review of the August activities was provided by Paul M.
